Time management is commonly thought of as the ability to keep oneself organized in order to get as many high value tasks completed as possible.

Time management is also the acceptance of what Oliver Burkeman calls “the finitude” of time and understanding the choices we get to make during our 4,000 weeks on Earth.

Being in such a flow state that I didn’t realize today’s date (or what day it is) until I was halfway through a long bike ride, I think, reflects how managing my time might actually be about getting lost in the moment (orĀ being time) than it is about productivity. Clearly I prioritized my time in the most meaningful way during a very relaxing vacation.

…or maybe this is just my excuse for not publishing an article this morning, which I had done every Wednesday for over a year…
