The US just had a whirlwind series of congressional, gubernatorial, state and other elections. Everyone from James Carville predicted the Republicans would do well in the contest. They were, for the most part, right. Antipathy towards President Obama has hit its inevitable high and many Americans (particularly Tea Partiers) seem to be frustrated that in two years one man hasn’t been able to reverse a series of massive and global problems that have taken a years (if not decades) to create.

But while last night didn’t shed too many surprises, one thing that’s knocking my socks off in the aftermath are a series of amazing political videos. I’ve seen my share of  amazing, poppy, thoughtful, scary and hilarious election day ads. But this one by Dale Peterson’s something else. Dale, in case you didn’t know is (was?) running for Alabama agriculture commissioner. Uploaded May 16, according to the Atlantic, it has already had 1,965,450 views. Bold and straight-talking are all words used to describe this video. Out of the world (and certainly my community) is another way of describing it. Enjoy.

Then after creating a sensation with his YouTube debut, Dale made another video throwing his endorsing weight around while featuring the apparent big issue in his campaign – sign stealing.

If that’s left you hankering for more, check out the Atlantic’s page on YouTube’s Most-Viewed Political videos. You won’t be disappointed (especially by Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-NC)’s rough handling of a bunch of high school students).
